Bladen County is seeking a dedicated Environmental Assistant to perform custodial maintenance across county buildings. The role involves cleaning restrooms, floors, windows and surfaces, stocking supplies, and ensuring safe, clean facilities.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of facilities or custodial experience, with ability to operate custodial tools and light vehicles as needed. Valid driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, plus 1–2 years in facilities maintenance or custodial operations.
• Knowledge of custodial methods, materials and safety practices.
• Ability to read and follow procedures and communicate effectively.

Responsabilités

• Provide general custodial maintenance for assigned County buildings and rotate to others as needed.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, restock supplies, dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and remove trash.
• Operate janitorial equipment and light vehicles, and report maintenance needs.
• Receive inquiries and maintain daily work records; interact with staff and the public.
