Job summary

Brunswick County is seeking a Custodial Assistant I to join our facilities team. The role involves cleaning and maintaining County buildings, including sweeping, waxing, buffing, mopping, and vacuuming, as well as washing walls and fixtures.

Responsibilities include policing buildings, emptying trash, and using a County vehicle to service off-site facilities. A High School diploma or GED is required, with 6 months to 1 year of custodial experience; must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of custodial experience preferred.
• Must be able to operate cleaning equipment and handle physical tasks.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and up to 40 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, wax, buff, mop floors and vacuum.
• Wash walls, woodwork and fixtures.
• Police buildings and empty trash; pick up debris.
• Operate County vehicle to service off-site facilities.
• Work Monday–Friday, 10:30am–7:00pm.
