Job summary

Fort Bend County is hiring full-time custodial staff to maintain cleanliness across county facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, floors, windows and office areas, restocking supplies, and assisting with emergency management duties as needed.

The role requires basic cleaning knowledge and a minimum 6 months related experience. Starting wages range from $15.30 to $18.44 per hour, with full benefits through the Texas County Retirement System.

Qualifications

• Less than High School Diploma/GED.
• 6 months job related experience.
• Knowledgeable in cleaning process and ability to complete tasks in assigned time.

Responsibilities

• Mops, cleans and disinfects restroom facilities within county, including walls, floors, doors and fixtures.
• Removes trash from waste containers and replaces liners in containers.
• Restocks supplies in restrooms.
• Cleans windows and glass surfaces.
• Sweeps, strips, and waxes floors.
• Dusts exposed areas on office furnishings and fixtures.
• Vacuums, cleans and maintains floor coverings and upholstered furniture.
• Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
