Job summary

Galveston County Human Resources seeks an entry-level Custodian to perform general cleaning of county buildings, restroom maintenance, and floor care under supervision. This role requires adherence to safety and county policies, and the ability to work a modified schedule.

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, dusting, and operating floor machines, with responsibilities at facilities across the county. A Texas driver's license is required, high school diploma or GED preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent (GED).
• Experience in custodial work preferred.
• Must have a current, valid Texas motor vehicle operator’s license.
• CJIS compliance

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, dust, spray wax, and floor stripping.
• Restroom maintenance; replenishing supplies.
• Inspect buildings for cleanliness and report repairs.
• Clean offices, walls, windows, and floors; empty trash.
• Operate custodial equipment safely according to schedule.
• Wears uniform at required worksites.
