Job summary

Lincoln County, SD is seeking a Custodian to perform a range of cleaning and maintenance tasks to keep facilities healthy, safe, and clean. Responsibilities include floor care, restroom sanitation, trash removal, and grounds maintenance.

Qualifications include basic knowledge of cleaning methods, ability to pass a background check and physical examination. Prior custodial experience is preferred; a high school diploma or GED is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assign work schedules to custodial staff.
• Inspect county facilities for cleanliness and safety.
• Clean and dust glass, windows, tabletops, desks, blinds, vents, walls, woodwork, fixtures.
• Sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, strip, scrub, wax, and polish floors.
• Move and arrange chairs, tables, and office equipment.
• Mow and trim lawns, pick up debris, snow removal in winter.
• Ensure entrances and doors are secured and locked.
• Change light bulbs and deliver supplies.
• Attend safety and technique training.
• Maintain professional appearance and demeanor.
