Job summary

The University of Kansas Medical Center invites applications for a Custodian in the SOM Salina Administration to maintain clean offices, classrooms, labs, and common areas. You will perform routine cleaning, event setup, minor repairs, and painting as needed.

Hours are 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. with occasional overtime; prior housekeeping or custodial experience is preferred and training is available. Join a team dedicated to safe and sanitary spaces.

Qualifications

• Housekeeping or custodial experience.
• Knowledge of housekeeping methods and equipment.
• Ability to operate janitorial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Dust and clean offices, classrooms, labs, and other spaces.
• Replenish paper supplies in restrooms and rooms as needed.
• Manage inventory of cleaning and paper supplies.
• Vacuum, shampoo carpets, and mop as assigned.
• Prepare room setups for meetings and events.
• Check classrooms for proper setup and resets.
• Clean and sanitize walls, fixtures, partitions, glass, and dispensers.
• Empty trash and recyclables and manage waste disposal.
• Install and hang items as requested.
• Perform minor repairs and modifications to office furniture.
• Prepare wall surfaces for paint.
• Undertake other discretionary, project, or maintenance tasks as assigned.
