Job summary

Alsco Uniforms in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Custodian/Janitor responsible for the general maintenance and cleanliness of equipment, facilities and grounds. This role includes preparing facilities for events and supporting other departments as needed.

Key duties include heavy cleaning, sanitizing, trash disposal, and safe operation of cleaning equipment. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliable, independent performance in a non-exempt environment.

Qualifications

• Recognize colors and sizes and sort accurately.
• Certified to safely operate a powered industrial truck where required.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products and procedures.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work well with a team.
• Work independently and follow written or verbal directions.

Responsibilities

• Perform heavy cleaning duties on equipment using appropriate methods.
• Scrub, sanitize, vacuum, sweep and mop offices and facilities.
• Move furniture and equipment between departments and to storage areas.
• Operate a powered industrial truck if certified.
• Participate in safety programs and report hazards or repairs.
• Keep maintenance records and restock cleaning supplies.
• Prepare facilities for meetings or events and maintain clean work areas.
