Job summary

Alsco Uniforms is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness and general maintenance of equipment, facilities, and grounds. The role, also called Janitor, involves cleaning duties, safety participation, and assistance with events.

Essential tasks include cleaning plant equipment, offices, and common areas, plus tasks such as moving supplies and equipment. Physical work is required and some locations may require PIT operation certification.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• Some locations may require PIT certification.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products and procedures.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively with a team.
• Work independently and follow written or verbal directions.

Responsibilities

• Perform heavy cleaning duties on equipment and facilities using appropriate methods.
• Scrub, sanitize, vacuum, sweep and mop floors and surfaces.
• Dispose of trash, manage spills and maintain cleanliness of offices, bathrooms, break rooms.
• Move furniture, supplies, textiles or equipment between departments and storage.
• Assist other departments with additional tasks as needed.
• Apply insecticides and fumigants, trim shrubbery, and perform outdoor maintenance.
• Support safety programs and report repair or safety concerns.
• Keep maintenance records and restock cleaning supplies.
• Operate a powered industrial truck when required.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow supervision guidance.
