Job summary

The City of Chicopee is seeking a Facilities Custodian to perform routine custodial duties across assigned shifts, maintaining municipal buildings and surrounding grounds in a clean, safe, and secure condition.

Typical duties include trash disposal, bathroom sanitation, flooring care, lawn maintenance, and basic repairs; flexibility to work at multiple locations and respond to work orders is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or in process of obtaining.
• Background check including fingerprinting required.
• Basic Security Awareness Training within 6 months of hire and biannually thereafter.
• Experience in building maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial duties to keep municipal buildings and grounds clean and safe.
• Empty trash, sanitize bathrooms, mop and wax floors, vacuum and dust areas.
• Mow lawns, trim shrubs, rake leaves, snow removal and salting.
• Respond to work orders and perform minor carpentry, electrical, and plumbing tasks as needed.

Non-Exempt, UFCW 1459 Laborers, Full-Time (40 Hours/Week) Salary: Grade 5L, Step 05 - $18.31 - $21.00/Hour Schedule: Mon - Fri

Licenses/Certifications:Massachusetts Class D Driver?s License, High

School Diploma/G.E.D. or in the process of obtaining one SUMMARY The City of Chicopee\'s Facilities Department is hiring a Facilities Custodian who would be responsible for the performance of routine custodial duties during an assigned shift, to maintain the assigned municipal building and adjacent grounds in a clean, orderly, safe, and Secure Condition.

Secure Condition. ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE Empty Trash. Clean And sanitize bathrooms. Wash, strip, and wax floors. Clean carpets as needed. Mowing the lawn, string trimming, rakes, and leaf blows. Cleaning areas outside the building. Vacuum, clean, and dust inside the building as needed. Enter and respond to work orders as needed or assigned. Small carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work with assistance. Snow removal such as snow plowing, shoveling, snow blower use, and ice melt application. Filling in at different locations as needed or assigned. Other duties as assigned. Secures Buildings

QUALIFICATIONS Successfully Complete And Pass a Board Of Probations Background Check. - Required Successfully complete and pass a Fingerprinted Based Background Check. Successful completion of Basic Security Awareness Training within six (6) months of hire and biannually thereafter. - Required Massachusetts Class D Driver\'s License. - Required High School Diploma/G.E.D. or one to three (1-3) months related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and
