Job summary

Harvard Integrations seeks a Custodial Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations of a small custodial team, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and a welcoming environment across offices and common spaces. You will schedule shifts, assign tasks, and monitor quality against standards.

You will develop monthly and annual deep-cleaning plans, manage supplies and equipment, and coordinate with the Facilities Manager and vendors for projects and after-hours work.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of custodial, janitorial, or housekeeping experience, including at least one year in a lead, crew lead, or supervisory role.
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage work schedules, assign daily tasks, and adjust coverage for absences, projects, and peak demand.
• Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet, computer, and email; basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Working knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, chemicals, equipment, and floor care, including safe chemical handling and SDS requirements.
• Ability to hold a small team accountable to consistent quality and safety standards.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to plan work ahead rather than react to it.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with limited supervision.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and a positive, professional manner with employees, visitors, and vendors.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Leads the day-to-day custodial operation. Plans, schedules, and directs the work of a small custodial team.
• Leads the custodial function for the assigned campus, including assigning daily work and inspecting quality.
• Plans and publishes custodial schedules to keep areas covered while controlling overtime.
• Develops periodic and deep-cleaning plans on a monthly, quarterly, and annual cadence.
• Receives, prioritizes, assigns, and closes custodial work orders and documents labor hours and supplies.
• Manages custodial supply and equipment inventory and evaluates products and vendors.
• Performs custodial work alongside the team and enforces safety and PPE requirements.
• Coordinates with Facilities Manager and outside vendors on projects and after-hours work.
