Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking a Custodian Supervisor to oversee frontline custodial staff. Shift hours are 6:00am-2:30pm, with duties ranging from cleaning and floor care to staff training and daily inspections.

The role requires supervisory experience, strong communication, and knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment. This on-site position emphasizes accountability to our RI SE values and expectations.

Qualifications

• Evaluates and develops rapport with all employees per assigned building.
• Skilled in the knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate strength.
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience or GGW lead custodian with training may substitute.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness in assigned areas of the facility.
• Supervises assigned janitorial employees during weekdays and weekends.
• Orientates and trains new employees.
• Conducts proper floor care training/procedures.
• Performs cleaning duties such as dusting, vacuuming, trash disposal, spot cleaning walls/windows, and burnishing floors.
• Establishes staffing requirements for various functions daily.
• Performs daily physical inspections in areas assigned.
