Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington seeks a hands-on Facilities Supervisor to oversee cleaning, sanitation, orderliness, and appearance of contract locations, ensuring quality, safety, and alignment with organizational values.

You will schedule staff, manage supplies and budgets, perform inspections, train employees, and coordinate with quality control inspectors. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills are essential; a strong benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Comprehensive understanding of building services contracting
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety procedures
• Ability to read and write in English
• Ability to supervise groups of skilled and unskilled disabled workers
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with disabilities

Responsibilities

• Oversees all cleaning functions per assigned buildings and shifts with daily follow-up.
• Completes and submits assigned paperwork.
• Schedules staff and work assignments.
• Responsible for adhering to supply budget.
• Responsible for inventory control and maintaining proper levels of supplies.
• Performs regular inspections of all areas where GGW’s services are performed; works with Quality Control Inspectors to ensure a safe and clean job site.
• Supervises Assistant Project Manager (if applicable), custodial supervisors and leadworkers.
• Attends management training sessions and monthly manager meetings at headquarters.
• Ensures that equipment and supplies are maintained in clean and working condition.
• Maintains good working relationship with the building’s COTR and provides excellent customer service to employees and clients.
• Works closely with Quality Control Inspectors to ensure a safe and clean job site.
• Provides training to staff.
• Ensures GGW’s safety procedures are enforced at the job site.
• Attends scheduled division meetings.
• Handles employee issues on site as per GGW’s Employee Handbook.
