Job summary

The City of Minneapolis is seeking a Custodial Services Supervisor to manage daily janitorial operations for multiple city facilities, overseeing staff and contracted labor to meet department standards.

Hours primarily Monday–Friday, 12 p.m.–8:30 p.m., with occasional earlier starts. Requires five years of related experience, supervisory background, and valid Minnesota driver's license, plus CIMS IEHA certification.

Qualifications

• Five years of related experience with two years in supervision.
• Proven ability to coach and train staff to standards.
• Experience coordinating custodial services and contracts.
• Knowledge of OSHA rules and CIMS-GB standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and assign work across facilities.
• Monitor productivity and allocate workloads to meet goals.
• Assess building needs; select appropriate methods and tools.
• Oversee custodial contracts and internal service performance.
• Develop and implement training programs for new hires.
• Create short- and long-term work schedules within budget.
• Oversee preventive maintenance and equipment forecasting.
• Maintain inventory and annual supply forecasts.
• Lead hiring process and conduct staff meetings.
• Ensure adherence to City policies and procedures.
• Support customer communications and inspections.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and CIMS-GB standards at all sites.
