Job summary

Salina Family YMCA is seeking a Facilities - Custodial team member to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for members, guests, and staff at our Salina location. The role supports the YMCA's mission by keeping facilities properly cleaned and maintained for health and safety.

The position involves routine cleaning, restroom sanitization, equipment maintenance, and assisting with setup for programs and events.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal throughout the facility.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and other common areas regularly.
• Maintain cleanliness of windows, walls, and other surfaces as needed.
• Ensure custodial supplies and equipment are properly used, maintained, and stored.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Facilities Manager promptly.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of rooms for YMCA programs and events as needed.
• Follow all YMCA policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with other staff to support a positive and inclusive environment.
