Job summary

Stanford University is seeking a Facilities Custodian/Project Crew member for Residential & Dining Enterprises (R&DE) on the Palo Alto campus. You will perform cleaning and light maintenance, install and repair fixtures, and support events as part of a multitiered operations team.

The role emphasizes safe tool use, adherence to safety rules, and collaboration with supervisors and staff. On-site, full-time opportunities with a pay range documented in the postings.

Qualifications

• One year of relevant work experience or equivalent education.
• Must be skilled in tasks they direct and be able to answer questions effectively and solve task-related problems.
• Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions and communicate those to others.
• Knowledge of operating power and hand tools safely, and use of basic maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Core Duties include water vacuum, carpet removal and pad replacement.
• Repair furniture by replacing broken parts and hardware.
• Trim and re-finish shelves, paint and refinish furnishings as directed.
• Install or repair room numbers, signs, dispensers, blinds, and fixtures.
• Replace light switch covers, outlet covers and electrical components as needed.
• Assemble beds and modular furniture; maintain cleaning and safety standards.
• Assist with event setup and teardown as required.
