This is a hands‑on operational role responsible for ensuring that every vehicle, driver, vendor, contractor, and delivery entering the loading dock is expected, scheduled, authorized, properly routed, and safely managed. The successful candidate will combine strong facilities and operational judgment with practical logistics experience, along with comfort using technology to manage scheduling, access, communications, and daily dock activity. This role is critical to maintaining a secure, efficient, and well‑organized loading dock environment that supports the broader facility’s operations.

What your day‑to‑day will look like:

  • Use scheduling and logistics technology to manage appointments, deliveries, vendors, contractors, and vehicle activity
  • Maintain real‑time visibility into what is expected, what has arrived, where it is going, and when it has departed
  • Verify drivers, vehicles, vendors, contractors, and deliveries before granting access to restricted dock and service areas
  • Manage exceptions, including early or late arrivals, unscheduled vehicles, access issues, and changes to scheduled activity
  • Coordinate with tenants, vendors, carriers, contractors, facilities personnel, security teams, and station operations
  • Maintain accurate operational, delivery, incident, and exception records, and monitor metrics such as delivery volume, dwell time, and scheduling compliance
  • Coordinate with contracted security personnel assigned to loading dock and vehicle‑access operations.
  • Identify bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and opportunities to improve both security and operational efficiency.
  • Comfortable with technology and capable of managing operations through technology, including:
    • Loading dock and delivery scheduling platforms
    • Visitor, vendor, contractor, and vehicle management systems
    • Physical access‑control and credentialing systems
    • Video surveillance and security‑management platforms
    • Mobile applications, QR codes, digital credentials, and electronic check‑in
    • Operational dashboards and reporting systems
    • Microsoft Office and related business applications
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in facilities operations, logistics, transportation, critical infrastructure, or a comparable environment
  • Demonstrated experience using scheduling, access‑control, visitor management, or similar operational technology
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous activities
  • Ability to make sound decisions independently and appropriately manage exceptions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business applications
  • Ability to work effectively with facility management, tenants, contractors, delivery companies, and relevant personnel
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior supervisory or management experience
  • Experience with loading docks, vehicle checkpoints, transportation facilities, or controlled‑access environments
  • Working knowledge of physical access control, incident management, and operational risk principles
  • Experience developing or enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for scheduling, access, and exception management
