Job summary

Oregon Department of Corrections seeks a Physical Plant Supervisor to lead maintenance, repairs, and improvements of the Oregon State Penitentiary facilities in Salem. The role oversees skilled trades staff and AIC work crews to keep operations safe and compliant.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance programs, project oversight, and budget administration while supporting the institution’s rehabilitative mission through structured work opportunities and skilled development for AIC

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of lead work, foreman work, or supervision related to the class concept; OR Three (3) years of experience related to the class concept AND completion of an accredited vocational-training or construction-training program related to the class concept; OR Two (2) years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field; OR An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct maintenance, repair, and improvement of buildings, utilities, equipment, infrastructure, and grounds.
• Provide management and technical oversight of skilled and semiskilled trades personnel and coordinate AIC work crews.
• Maintain safe, efficient, and effective institutional operations through preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, construction projects, personnel management, budget administration, and compliance with laws and policies.
