Job summary

State of Oklahoma is seeking a Construction/Maintenance Administrator I to manage planning, coordination, and supervision of construction, renovation, and maintenance of state properties. The role involves overseeing technicians, licensed trades, and contracted crews for both new work and upkeep across the state.

The position is on-site with no remote eligibility. Five years of building trade or maintenance experience, plus two years of supervisory experience, are required.

Qualifications

  • Five years of experience in skilled building trade or maintenance work.
  • Two years of supervising contractors in one of the listed fields.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for required non-supervisory experience.
  • Willingness to travel as needed; valid Oklahoma driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect buildings and equipment; determine maintenance, construction, or renovation needs and estimate labor/material costs.
  • Oversee supervisory or contracted staff; develop budgets and procedures; ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Evaluate bids; prepare specifications for equipment, supplies, and vehicles.
  • Prepare cost estimates for future capital projects and review plans and construction documents.
  • Plan, supervise, and direct movement of heavy construction equipment across the state.
  • Schedule crews and track time/attendance; perform work as needed.
  • Complete reports on equipment usage, maintenance and materials.
