Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Facility Construction Inspector II to be based onsite at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage scheduling, quality control, and oversee project documentation from planning through change orders.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate subcontractor activities, scheduling and quality control
  • Develop and implement project management and construction management plans
  • Manage procurement, change orders, pay applications, and schedule updates
  • Monitor design progress against construction requirements and budgets
  • Perform value engineering and constructability reviews and bid coordination
  • Coordinate document management and submittals; review shop drawings and pay apps
  • Ensure health and safety program compliance and site inspections
  • Prepare progress reports and project schedules for stakeholders
  • Support local bidding efforts and procurement of orders
  • Assist in project setup and temporary facilities management

Environmental, Operations and Construction (EOC) operates within HDR's Federal Business Group, capable of delivering services across all HDR business groups at any location. Our work is performed by our professional staff, scientists and engineers at remote sites, embedded in client office space or our own facilities. EOC delivers quality engineering, environmental, and construction management services at competitive prices.

This position will work onsite at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho.

In the role of Facility Construction Inspector II, we'll count on you to:

  • Take responsibility for subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and quality control
  • Prepare the Project Management Plan of Construction Management Plan
  • Develop procedures for executing construction contract administration such activities including document, change, time, cost, quality and safety management, and implement procedures in coordination with the project team
  • Perform additional construction management activities, including development procurement - construction schedules, construction subcontract scopes, review of subcontract terms and conditions, performance of constructability and value engineering reviews, construction estimating and schedule reviews, and project construction performance presentations
  • Administer and manage construction activities
  • Monitor progress of the overall design as related to construction requirements
  • Perform value engineering and constructability reviews
  • Coordinate local bidding efforts for quotes obtained in the field
  • Assist in procurement of purchase orders and subcontract packages
  • Coordinate document management
  • Review or coordinate review of Coordinate, expedite and reviewing construction submittals including shop drawings and pay applications
  • Prepare, issue, and negotiate Change Orders
  • Review and analyze baseline and updated construction schedules
  • Control the project budget and schedule
  • Coordinate and manage project quality assurance and control, and inspection services
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with the Health and Safety Program through communication and inspections
  • Prepare and update project schedules, pay requests, and daily, weekly, and monthly progress, budget, and schedule management reports
  • Coordinate local bidding efforts
  • Take responsibility for project setup and temporary facilities
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical school or college degree
  • Relevant Industry Certifications
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules
  • A minimum of 11 year's experience
  • Experience with SCIF and vertical facility projects
  • Technical expertise to perform payment inspections and validation of progress against the AF IMT 3065 forms
  • Construction or design certifications
  • Experience with estimating software, scheduling software, project management software and web-based collaboration software for the exchange of documents
Required Qualifications
  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent. (Candidates with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute experience for a high school diploma)
  • A minimum of 3 years experience
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Proven problem-solving and documentation abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
