Job summary

Detroit Engineered Products is seeking a project engineer to manage low to mid-level scope facilities and construction projects within a manufacturing setting.

You will specify requirements, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safe, on-time, within-budget delivery across all project phases. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline with four years of related experience is typical for this role.

  • Experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Specify requirements and write purchase requisitions for facility items, services and projects.
  • Manage all disciplines of subcontracted construction projects and oversee payments.
  • Coordinate and oversee activities across all phases of the project cycle for facilities-related construction.
  • Develop relationships with customers to solve technical problems.
  • Support safety, environmental objectives and sustainability projects.
  • Assure expenses are allocated to correct Cost Centers and budgets.
  • Review bids, statements of work and project authorizations.
