Job summary

ECS Mid-Atlantic, LLC is seeking a motivated intern to support field observations at existing facilities. You will participate in building science tasks across roofing, waterproofing, fireproofing, EIFS, and related testing, while collaborating with project managers and site teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on engagement with mechanical systems, structures, and problem-solving in a real-world setting. A related degree pursuit and transportation to job sites are required.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, or related field.
• Interest in building forensics, mechanical systems, and structures.
• Previous internship experience is preferred.
• Position requires carrying 40-70 lbs daily or up to 85 lbs occasionally.
• Must have reliable transportation to job sites with mileage reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field observations at existing facilities.
• Perform roofing, waterproofing, fireproofing, EIFS, anchor testing, coring, scanning, sampling, leak investigations, and forensic investigations.
• Interact with site contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Attend project meetings and assist in project resolutions.
• Assist with preparation of proposals and scheduling/oversight of field staff.

What You'll Do

• Conducting field observations associated with existing facilities
• Performing facilities related services including roofing and waterproofing, fireproofing and fire stopping, exterior insulation finish systems (EIFS), anchor testing, coring, scanning, material sampling, leak investigations, and forensic investigations
• Interacting and communicating effectively with site contractors, other technicians, and project managers
• Attending project meetings and assisting in project resolutions
• Assisting with preparation of proposals
• Assisting with the resolution of both technical and administrative project issues
• Assisting with scheduling, training, and oversight of field staff

What We're Looking For

• Actively pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, or related degree
• Interest in building forensics, mechanical systems, and structures
• Previous internship experience would go a long way
• Position requires carrying 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height
• Must be able to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites - mileage will be reimbursed
