Job summary

Mercy Medical Center is seeking an Environmental Services team member to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure safety and cleanliness of internal and external premises. Responsibilities include preparing resident rooms, cleaning public areas, and supporting staff and maintenance personnel.

Employees will uphold the mission and values, adhere to safety policies, and assist with safety drills and inventory management.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak English.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in building safety, cleanliness and maintenance preferred.
• Ability to operate a household vacuum, floor cleaning and buffing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Follows established work schedule in cleaning and maintaining assigned internal areas of responsibility (public areas and hallways, program areas, residential areas, etc.).
• Cleans external premises/grounds (front entrance area, dining area entrances, parking areas).
• Maintains carpets and flooring (stripping/waxing, vacuuming, spot cleaning).
• Maintains cleanliness and aseptic conditions throughout House of Mercy.
