Job summary

YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking a part-time facilities assistant responsible for cleaning, general maintenance, and setup for events. You will cleanse assigned areas, restrooms, and common spaces while following safety and sanitation guidelines to keep our facilities welcoming and safe for members.

Key duties include mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, pool cleaning, and light repairs such as replacing bulbs or tiles.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
• Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
• Abides by all YMCA COVID sanitation practices and standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness by mopping, dusting, trash removal, and related duties.
• Complete tasks such as window washing, pool cleaning, painting, and vacuuming.
• Set up furniture for events and report needed repairs.
• Ensure building security during shifts and follow safety procedures.
