Job summary

UC Irvine is seeking a skilled carpenter to construct partitions, install doors, floors, ceilings, and cabinetry across campus facilities. You will interpret blueprints and specifications, work from oral or written instructions, and ensure safety and quality, with attention to detail.

The role requires 1-3 years of general carpentry experience, a valid California driver license, and strong communication skills. On-site work may include weekends; UCS Irvine offers competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong command of the English language is mandatory.
• Proven ability to safely use hand held electrical power tools.
• Proven ability to safely use carpenter shop power tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Construct new partitions, installs drywall, paneling, and hangs doors and frames from blueprints or drawings.
• Installs/fixes floor tiles, suspended ceilings, cabinets, and demountable partitions; minor furniture repair.
• Fabricates and installs Formica countertops, cabinets, bulletin boards, chalkboards and repairs furniture.
• Maintains time and materials documentation for each job.
