Job summary

St. Andrew’s School is seeking a full-time facilities care technician to join the facilities department. Based on a 40-hour work week, year-round schedule with overtime and some weekend or event coverage.

The role maintains cleanliness, safety, and aesthetics across the campus, performing cleaning duties, setting up for events, and assisting dorms and faculty housing. Requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning tasks such as bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.
• Sweep, mop floors, and clean screens/windows; change bed linens where needed.
• Assist with setting up for special events and moving tables/chairs.
• Clean dorms and faculty housing; clean appliances and scrub tubs/showers.

Actual hours will be assigned based on the needs of the department. Some weekend and special event coverage may be required. Employees in this position are eligible for overtime payment. This is a critical member of our community who works to ensure the cleanliness, health, safety, and aesthetics of the campus.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform institutional and residential duties that include a variety of cleaning tasks such as, cleaning/sanitizing bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning screens and windows, gathering and removing trash, sweeping, mopping floors, and changing bed linens.Working independently or assist other facilities care technicians as assigned.Assist with setting up for special events, which includes moving tables, chairs, and furniture.Perform cleaning in dorms and faculty apartments and houses, including cleaning refrigerators, ovens, shampooing carpets, and scrubbing tubs and showers.Job Requirements:High school diploma or GED required.Possession of a current, valid driver’s license.Self-motivated, ability to follow directions and work with little to no supervision.Ability to work well with others as a team player; a pleasant personality is essential.Ability to operate cleaning machines.Prior housekeeping experience is preferred but not required.Physical Demands:Work involves exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.Requires physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling objects over 40 pounds.Ability to withstand sustained stooping, bending, and lifting and to climb and work on ladders.
