Job summary

Arcadia Care in Cincinnati is seeking a dependable Maintenance Assistant to help keep our nursing home safe, clean, and in good working order. You’ll support routine repairs and upkeep throughout resident rooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces.

You will work with residents, staff, and families, complete work orders promptly, maintain tools and equipment, follow infection prevention and safety practices, and respond to maintenance needs and emergencies as directed.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of maintenance or building upkeep experience required
• Basic knowledge of common repairs, tools, and equipment
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
• Dependable, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to communicate respectfully in a care setting
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine repairs and preventive maintenance
• Inspect the building and report safety or maintenance concerns
• Help maintain heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems
• Complete work orders promptly and keep accurate records
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas
• Keep work areas clean and follow infection prevention and workplace safety practices
• Communicate courteously with residents, families, and staff
• Respond to maintenance needs and emergencies as directed
