Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a Facilities Capital Project Manager in the Facilities and Real Estate Department. The role will lead capital expansion, new construction, renovation, and improvement projects across the shipyard.

You will develop scope, manage front-end design, and oversee contracts with architects, engineers, and general contractors. The position requires strong budget/schedule skills and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders to achieve objectives.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, or Architecture OR 4+ years of construction project management experience
• 2+ years of experience in building construction, real estate development, facility management, design, or engineering

Responsibilities

• Provide overall project management in development, design, execution and closeout of capital construction/renovation projects
• Develop engineering/design requirements and front-end documents to enable design kickoff
• Manage design/consultant/contractor agreements for capital expansion projects
• Lead multi-functional teams across internal and external stakeholders
• Maintain capital budgets including accruals, forecasts, and variance explanations
• Maintain project budgets and schedules for all team members and vendors
• Coordinate with facilities leadership, end users, and business unit leaders to meet objectives
• Regularly inspect progress with contractors and vendors for quality and contractual adherence
• Coordinate PM requirements with Legal, EHS, Security, Fire Dept, Real Estate and Facilities and operations teams
