Discovery Capital is hiring a part-time Facilities Attendant for TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Columbia. The position offers a competitive hourly rate and a schedule of Wednesday–Saturday 10am–6pm, with possible full-time opportunities.

You will work with senior hotel staff on HVAC, repairs, and preventive maintenance, while ensuring safety and cleanliness of property, parking areas, and common spaces.

Qualifications

• Two years' of technical maintenance training or maintenance experience required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• A+ attitude with willingness to learn; professional demeanor and ability to provide high level customer service.
• Valid Driver's License; clean background; ability to lift over 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC inspections and assist in HVAC repair projects.
• Handle guest room repair issues (caulking, tile, painting, plumbing).
• Manage hotel key control with GM/AGM; oversee carpet/tile repairs and minor exterior projects.
• Repair and maintain parking lot, grounds, pool, and sports court areas.
• Set up meeting rooms and maintain preventive maintenance programs.
• Respond to emergencies on short notice; manage hotel work orders and safety of maintenance items.

HOURLY RATE: Competitive base hourly pay at $19.00-$21.00 based upon experience.

FACILITIES ATTENDANT POSITION:

Responsible foridentifying and accomplishing technical and/or skilled projects within the hotel. The schedule for this position is part-time, with the possibility of full-time, Wednesday-Saturday 10am-6pm.

FACILITIES ATTENDANT DESCRIPTION:

• Work directly with the General Manager, AGM, and/or Maintenance Manager within the hotel including but not limited to the following:
  • Perform HVAC spring and winter inspections.
  • Assist in HVAC unit repair projects.
  • Guest room repair issues (caulking, tile repair, painting, plumbing, etc.)
  • With GM/AGM, implement and manage hotel key control.
  • Repair carpet and tile floor.
  • Minor roof repairs, painting projects, and exterior projects.
  • Pool/spa repairs.
• Responsible for cleanliness of parking lot, grounds, picking up and maintaining interior and exterior property, including all trash and cigarette butts.
• Paints and makes minor repairs.
• Monitors parking lot lights and exterior signs.
• Responsible for upkeep of sports court, pool, and equipment.
• Sets-up meeting room facilities (tables, chairs, podiums, equipment, etc.)
• Perform, administer, and document preventive maintenance programs.
• Respond to emergency situations on short notice.
• Maintain and manage a work order system for the hotel as well as complete work orders on a timely basis and file work orders.
• Responsible for safety and security of flammable and other maintenance items.
  

FACILITIES ATTENDANT JOB REQUIREMENTS:
