Job summary

Hosanna Church in Lakeville is seeking a Facilities Associate to maintain and repair internal infrastructure and exterior grounds across campuses, ensuring safety, cleanliness and an inviting environment for ministry programs. You will coordinate with third-party vendors when needed and support event set-up and tear-down.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or applicable technical certification preferred.
  • Two years of facilities maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair building structures and equipment (electrical, mechanical, HVAC).
  • Maintain exterior grounds, parking lots, sidewalks, and landscaping.
  • Ensure indoor/outdoor cleanliness and safety for inviting environments.
  • Assist ministry programming with setup and tear-down.
  • Respond to inclement weather; secure buildings and alarms nightly.
  • Coordinate building projects with vendors and minimize distractions.
  • Respond to emergencies and participate in Emergency Response Team.
  • Recruit, develop and lead volunteers within the ministry.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position: Facilities Associate

Team: Central

Reports to: Building & Grounds Manager

Status: Non-Exempt - 40 hours/week

Position Description

The Facilities Associate has responsibilities for installation, maintenance and repair of critical internal building infrastructure and exterior grounds across all Hosanna campuses, to ensure facility safety and efficiency of operations. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe and inviting environment by supporting ministry programming with activity and event set-up, tear-down and responding to requests for facility assistance. Some of these assignments may be conducted through 3rd parties, meaning oversight of work scope, vendor performance and quality become the focus.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair building structures and equipment; including, but not limited to, electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems, roofing, interior fountains and baptismal pools. Fulfills work orders for maintenance and repairs using the assigned work order system.
  • Maintain and care for exterior grounds, including but not limited to, lawn care, landscaping, parking lots and sidewalks.
  • Assist in maintaining indoor and outdoor cleanliness and safety of all Hosanna campuses, creating a presentable and inviting environment.
  • Assist with all ministry programming set-up and tear-downs as assigned.
  • During inclement weather, ensure sidewalks, walk-ways, access points and fire exits are clear of debris, snow, ice, or other hazards. Ensure the buildings are securely locked and alarm systems are armed nightly.
  • Assist in the development, coordination and implementation of building and grounds projects with a focus to minimize distractions, while adhering to general policies and procedures.
  • Respond to emergency situations to support safety and security protocols and procedures. Follow guidelines and policies including certification for equipment use and building access systems. Participate on the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
  • Responsible for recruiting, developing, equipping, encouraging and leading volunteers and/or team of volunteers within the ministry.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
Education/Experience
  • High School Degree or equivalent - Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or applicable Technical Degree/Certification - Preferred
  • Two years of experience working in a facilities maintenance capacity- Preferred

  • Self starter with an ability to prioritize and manage several tasks and deliverables, often with expected completion dates.
  • Proven mechanical aptitude and a highly proactive mindset
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Capable of training staff and volunteers with a variety of learning techniques.
  • Strong collaboration in cross-functional teams and projects.
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to a variety of staff, volunteer, and guest needs and requests.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in working with different personalities and leadership styles.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
  • The schedule will include working evenings, weekends, and extended hours as required by ministry needs. This includes Christmas Eve and Easter.
  • Typical core hours are defined as 9am to 3pm Monday through Friday, with weekend hours as needed to support our facilities and ministry teams.
  • Availability for on-call rotation is required. Associated expectations include ability to respond to phone calls within 5 minutes , including ability to respond to phone calls within 5 minutes and be onsite at a campus in a maximum of 1 hour.
  • Extensive standing, walking and sitting for extended periods of time during a shift.
  • Repetitive keyboard and mouse movements requirements.
  • Able to set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with no driving restrictions in order to use the Hosanna owned vehicles. Able to drive between campuses, deliver products, pick-up products from vendors, etc.
  • Ability to operate necessary equipment, including blowers, tractors, mowers, various types of lifts, etc.
  • Extensive physical work, including, but not limited to twisting, bending, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ladder and lift work is necessary for working on rooftops or other high areas.

A mature faith, a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, commitment to the Teaching Statement and ministries of Hosanna, a signed Hosanna Leadership Covenant, and submission to Biblical authority along with membership in the congregation and worship at Hosanna are requirements for all employees.
