Position Summary:

The Facilities Associate, 1 st Shift position is responsible for maintenance work in offices, warehouses, industrial areas, and other building interiors and exteriors. This position will ensure that Porter Pipe & Supply remains clean, functional, and safe for all staff and visitors. The Facilities Associate, 1 st Shift, provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers and demonstrates strict confidentiality with all team members while serving as an ambassador of our culture.

Essential Functions:

• Provide general and detailed maintenance (either with direct or indirect supervision), including patching, painting, hardware repairs, and other repair/replacement work as required.
• Specific functions include, but are not limited to, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, wiping, washing, polishing, and dusting floors, carpet, walls, windows, and doors; trash and recycling removal; cleaning restrooms; stairwells, offices, and other areas as required.
• Perform routine facility and equipment maintenance.
• Complete all documentation for work performed in a timely manner.
• Oversee and execute the duties associated with events, including executing the set-up plan in a timely manner, break-downs are completed on schedule with spaces returned to normal.
• Adhere to all company safety rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to use basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and custodial hand and electric-powered tools.
• Follow oral and written instructions; maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity and respect for a diverse population.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
• Able to communicate in English with regard to the essential functions of the position.

Required Experience and Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull objects up t o 50 pounds .
• Requires visual, hearing and speech acuity.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures and elements, noise, and fumes.
• Ability to use hands to operate office equipment.
