Work Schedule: Flexible - 20 hours per week

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

To support and assist maintenance efforts on a part-time basis, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and prompt upkeep of buildings and grounds, reflecting a positive image of the Cooperative. The role requires teamwork aligned with the Cooperative's mission, vision, and values.

MINIMUM JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

All requirements are subject to modification to accommodate individuals with disabilities.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Basic skills in arithmetic, reading, instructions comprehension, and routine report completion. Prefer specialized custodial training.

Experience: Minimum of one (1) year in building maintenance, repairs (painting, lamp replacement, pruning, plant care), and janitorial services (cleaning, waxing, polishing floors, windows).

Knowledge: Understanding of custodial principles, safety hazards (fire, electrical, broken windows, improper storage, slippery floors), and grounds maintenance.

Skills: Excellent communication, teamwork, and ability to perform cleaning tasks (mopping, lavatory and floor cleaning, glass, tile, light fixtures, carpet care), pest control, exterior cleaning, snow/ice removal, and operation of power tools and equipment.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS AND CONDITIONS:

Reports to: District Manager, District Coordinator, Engineering & Operations, or District Director Office Services.

Directs: None

Internal: Collaborate within the team, promoting cooperation and support.

External: Maintain positive relationships with members, the public, and external contacts.

This position involves medium physical activity, including repetitive motions, various physical tasks, and exposure to environmental conditions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Maintain building and grounds, including cleaning windows and walls.
  2. Clean, wax, and polish floors and furniture.
  3. Remove trash, sweep, and polish furniture.
  4. Clean bathrooms and vacuum carpets.
  5. Maintain break rooms and kitchens.
  6. Perform minor repairs, maintenance, carpentry, and painting.
  7. Order supplies and equipment.
  8. Care for custodial equipment and tools.
  9. Replace bulbs and ensure proper lighting.
  10. Maintain sidewalks and parking areas.
  11. Assist with meeting room setups.
  12. Handle material transfer and storage cleaning.
  13. Dispose of trash and keep storage areas organized.
  14. Submit timesheets promptly.
  15. Safeguard buildings after hours.
  16. Follow safety practices and company policies.
  17. Perform other duties as required.
