Job Title: Roaming Facility Manager (Part-Time – Virginia Based)

Location: Richmond, VA (must reside in or near Richmond)
Department: Operations
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly
Compensation: $35/hour (Part-Time – ~20 hours/week to start)
Employment Type: Part-Time | Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Travel: Required across Virginia; initial onboarding in Nashville, TN
Benefits: Not eligible at start; may be added with role expansion

As we expand our presence in Virginia, we are looking for a Roaming Facility Manager to support multiple sites across the state.

Position Summary

The Roaming Facility Manager is a flexible, part-time field role responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of commercial and residential facilities across Virginia. This position combines hands-on repair work with vendor management, project oversight, budgeting, and client communication.

This is a highly independent, self-managed role with opportunity for long-term growth as our Virginia operations evolve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine inspections at multiple facilities statewide
  • Perform basic maintenance (e.g., light plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized services
  • Manage small- to mid-sized facility projects
  • Communicate regularly with clients and the SFMService team
  • Prepare and present proposals, budgets, and progress updates
  • Maintain work logs, inspection reports, and vendor documentation
  • Ensure safety and compliance standards are met
  • Attend a 2–3 day onboarding at SFM headquarters in Nashville, TN
Requirements
Qualifications
  • Must reside in or near Richmond, VA
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in facility maintenance or property/project management
  • Ability to self-perform general repair and maintenance tasks
  • Strong organizational and vendor management skills
  • Comfortable with mobile apps and web-based tools
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Hourly Rate: $35/hour
  • Mileage Reimbursement: For all approved travel
  • Company Credit Card: For job-related expenses
  • Flexible Scheduling: Based on site needs and priorities
