Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Facilities Assistant – 2nd Shift at our Southaven, MS location (Memphis Distribution Center). You will join the distribution facilities team to maintain operational readiness and implement facility improvements.

You will be the primary lift battery attendant on 2nd shift, operate a floor sweeper and scrubber, replenish water, replace damaged racks, and handle maintenance tasks such as assembling furniture and minor plumbing.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Certification on order picker and counterbalance lifts.
• Ability to work 2nd shift (3:00pm - 11:30pm).
• Ability to work with common hand tools.
• Must work in a non-climatized warehouse environment.
• Must be able to change forklift batteries in a timely manner.
• Must possess a positive attitude, work well with others inside and outside the department and have good oral communication skills.
• Must be self-motivated, independent worker who can take limited direction while making good decisions.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary lift battery attendant on 2nd shift to ensure all lifts have batteries changed safely and expediently.
• Operate a floor sweeper and scrubber daily.
• Replenish water bottles and cups daily; replace water dispensers as needed.
• Remove and replace damaged racks.
• Pallet recycling daily.
• Put away supplies from suppliers, e.g., cardboard, labels.
• Keep supply racks organized and clean.
• Minor maintenance task; assemble furniture.
• Evaluate machine issues, conveyors, and report to facilities coordinator timely.
• Minor plumbing and cleaning.
• Maintain cleanliness of front office parking lots as needed.
• Conduct monthly inspections on ladders.
• Inspect racks and eyewash for serviceability weekly.

• Be the primary lift battery attendant on 1st shift to ensure all lift have batteries change safely and expediently.
• Operate a floor sweeper and scrubber daily.
• Replenish water bottles and cups daily. Also, replace the water dispensers as needed.
• Remove and replace damaged racks.
• Pallet recycling daily
• Put away supplies from suppliers, i.e., cardboard, labels, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

• Ability to work with common hand tools.

• Must be able to change Forklift batteries in a timely matter.

• Must be self-motivated, independent worker who can take limited direction while making good decisions in the workplace.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Can solve basic math problems and know how to use a ruler.
• Preferred experience of working independently for 2 years.
