Job summary

The Oak Brook Park District is seeking a Building Engineer to manage facilities, mechanical systems, and the Aquatic Center. This full-time, non-exempt role reports to the Superintendent of Parks and Maintenance and supervises the Building Technician and Assistant Building Engineer.

Responsibilities include maintaining HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and aquatic systems, coordinating preventive maintenance, and ensuring health and safety standards are met for Swim Central and Splash Island.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of trade experience (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
• Experience with aquatic systems preferred or certified aquatic operator credentials.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain/repair HVAC equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Supervise Building Technician and Assistant Building Engineer.
• Plan payroll and performance appraisals for the team.
• Oversee aquatic systems, Swim Central and Splash Island operations per health codes.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and contracts.
• Coordinate with contractors for annual closures and seasonal ops.
