Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools in Ashburn, VA seeks a Specialized Instructional Facilitator – Behavior (SIF-B) to support teachers and administrators with applied behavior analysis and evidence-based interventions.

In this role you will collaborate on data collection, fidelity checks, and matching interventions to needs, while supervising RBTs and delivering targeted training to staff and families. 11 months/213 days/7 hours per day.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum of three years of experience in Applied Behavior Analysis in clinical or public education settings.
• Virginia teaching license with SPED endorsement preferred; LBA license required

Responsibilities

• Develop materials, training and provide resources; deliver professional learning to administrators, educators, and parents in ABA or related methodologies.
• Consult with administrators and teachers to collect/analyze data; conduct fidelity checks; identify intervention matches.
• Provide classroom demonstrations; offer one-on-one support; facilitate teacher inquiry and professional development; deliver group trainings.
• Collaborate with staff to provide professional development; advance tiered behavioral interventions and social-behavioral instruction; assist in developing FBAs and BIPs.
• Collaborate with school-based professionals to provide tiered student support.
• Coach instructional staff in IEP development to promote academic and social-emotional development; ensure access to general ed curriculum.
• Participate in division-wide PBIS and MTSS meetings; Support equity and student services initiatives.
• Supervise Registered Behavior Technicians.

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Coordinator for Specialized Behavior Support, the position of Specialized Instructional Facilitator – Behavior (SIF-B), assists teachers and administrators in developing specialized knowledge in applied behavior analysis by providing targeted evidence-based interventions to support positive outcomes for students.

Roles And Responsibilities

The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; work may differ and other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate.

• Develop materials, training and provide resources for and provide professional learning to administrators, educators, and parents/guardians in applied behavior analysis, and/or other evidence-based methodologies related to addressing the needs of students with behavior difficulties.
• Assist and consult with administrators and teachers in collecting and analyzing data; conduct fidelity checks to provide feedback; and facilitate the process to identify an intervention match between identified needs and specific behavioral and instructional strategies.
• Work directly with teachers in a school providing classroom-based demonstrations, collaborative and one-on-one support, and facilitating teacher inquiry and related professional development as well as providing small and large group presentations and training.
• Collaborate with school-based staff and administrators to provide professional development, engage in ongoing work in furthering the tiered approach for behavioral interventions and social and behavioral skills instruction and assist in developing functional behavior assessments (FBA) and behavior intervention plans (BIP) to support students.
• Collaborate with school-based professionals (school psychologists, counselors, etc.) to provide a system of support for students in need of tiered intervention.
• Collaborate, consult, and coach instructional staff in developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) designed to promote students’ educational, physical, and/or social-emotional development in order to access the general education curriculum.
• Collaborate and support division wide strategic initiatives.
• Participates in school based Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) meetings, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support meetings, Pupil Services Student Support Teams, Equity Team meetings and child study meetings.
• Supervision of Registered Behavior Technicians.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree required

Experience

Minimum of three years of experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis in the clinical and or public education setting.

Licenses and Certifications

• Holds or is eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in one or more areas of Special Education preferred
• Board Certified Behavior Analyst License required, License to Practice as a Behavior Analyst in Virginia (LBA) required

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Strong knowledge of and experience with effective, evidence-based instructional methodologies, such as multisensory and/or structured instructional approaches
• Knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, and materials of specially designed instruction
• Knowledge of Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) school division mission, goals, and organization preferred.
