Buro Happold is seeking a motivated Facades Intern to contribute to innovative and sustainable engineering solutions. You’ll work with industry leaders, gaining hands-on experience on projects shaping communities and addressing climate change.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field.
• Coursework in façade materials and assemblies, façade engineering, building envelope physics, and/or thermal modeling is beneficial.
• 3D modeling with Rhino, Revit, Grasshopper, SketchUp, AutoCAD is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced analysis programs to understand building enclosure physics and façade design.
• Undertake engineering calculations with materials like structural glass, aluminum, stainless steel, wood, stone, and precast concrete.
• Produce details and drawings using 2D and 3D CAD and graphics software.
• Engage in cross-disciplinary projects focusing on façade design and sustainability.
• Perform technical reviews of shop drawings and submittals for air, water, thermal, seismic, acoustic, and structural performance.
• Participate in site visits and prepare site observation reports.
