Job summary

Arup, a global multidisciplinary consultancy, seeks graduates to contribute to façade design and analysis for building envelopes in New York. You’ll sketch, model and analyze complex facades, collaborating with architects and engineers to deliver robust, energy‑efficient solutions.

You’ll engage in 3D detailing, structural and thermal modeling, and reporting while growing with a team that values sustainable development and innovative problem solving.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related Building Science discipline.
• Core interest in the façade industry with emphasis on detailing and engineering.
• Good sketching skills and an ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible and visual way.
• Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Give structure to facades concepts – sketches, reports, and analyses for discussion with Architects and Clients.
• Engage with architecture/engineering teams on 3D modeling of complex facades.
• Carry out structural, thermal, and solar modeling of building enclosure details.
• Use advanced analysis programs to understand façade design and envelope physics.
• Produce details and drawings using 2D/3D CAD and graphics packages.
• Review shop drawings and submittals to ensure performance requirements.
• Interpret specs/design documents and summarize conditions in reports.
• Conduct mock‑ups, factory and field inspections and investigations.
