Job summary

Kroger is seeking a maintenance professional to support plumbing tasks in its Wisconsin stores. The role requires handling drains, valve work, and water heater repairs, with emphasis on timely reporting and inventory control.

The candidate should have general plumbing experience in commercial facilities, strong communication, and reliable PC skills to use Kroger systems. Weekend shifts and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• General plumbing experience in food retail and/or commercial facilities.
• Ability to read and interpret basic reports and calendars.
• Strong PC skills including MS Excel and Windows-based programs.

Responsibilities

• Clean drains, repair/replace valves in toilets and install/repair commercial water heaters.
• Complete and submit accurate time reporting and vehicle inventory via company systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance in assigned stores at least twice per year.
• Ensure maintenance expenses meet annual budget guidelines.

Job description

• Responsible for cleaning drains, valve repair and replacements in toilets, repair and install commercial water heaters, and other minimal tasksassociated with plumbing.
• Complete and submit accurate reporting of time reporting and vehicle inventory by scheduled dates via company computer programs.
• Perform preventive maintenance in assigned stores at least twice per year.
• Ensure maintenance expense (by Account Code) in assigned stores meet annual budgetary guidelines.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

• General plumbing experience especially in food retail and/or commercial facilities.

Minimum Position Qualifications

• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced work environment and a willingness to help all members of the department.
• Flexibility to handle ever-changing scope of assignments and projects.
• Ability to work a variety of schedules as required (including nights, weekends and holidays). Overtime may be required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize job functions.
• Personal initiative and follow-through to completion.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong PC skills. Position will utilize Windows XP, MS Excel, CPC Ultrasite/Controllers and MS Outlook. Candidates must possess the ability to utilizeand learn Kroger-specific mainframe applications including Viryanet Service Hub.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel independently.
