Job summary

Magna International, Inc. seeks a Welder/Fabricator to support production by repairing dies, fabricating tools, and building jigs and fixtures. You will work in a heavy industrial setting with a strong welding background and emphasis on safety and quality.

The role requires 2+ years of related experience or equivalent training, with MIG/TIG/ARC welding proficiency and basic computer skills. On-site work environment is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year Associates Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• MiG/ Tig / Arc Welding training.
• Welding courses, computer skills; basic Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• The Welder/Fabricator will assist and repair production dies, fabricate tools, jigs and fixtures for production areas to meet customer production requirements.
• Strong welding/fabricating background with experience in heavy industrial environment.
• Follow safety procedures and training to ensure quality and productivity.

Job Responsibilities:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Some of the physical demands for this position include the ability to lift 40 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods of time, and occasional bending and stooping.

EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED:

• Some of the equipment and tools used are: Mig, Tig and Arc welding machines, Hand tools, Oxy/Acy cutting torch, Air Grinders

Knowledge

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year Associates Degree from accredited technical college is preferred, or equivalent experience
• One to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

TECHNICAL TRAINING:

• MiG/ Tig / Arc Welding

OTHER:

• Welding courses, Computer skills; Basic Microsoft Word and Excel
