Role Summary

The Fabricator will produce components for multiple construction project types, including precision components. The Fabricator will utilize and set up a variety of automated tools and specialized equipment. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

PREFABRICATION FAMILY - CORE

• Operates a variety of automated equipment, uses cut list to produce specific sized material.
• Operates manual shop equipment; uses cut list to make repeatable parts.
• Applies basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) to production activities, such as cutting parts to size or assembling multiple parts.
• Collects multiple components cut to specific sizes and assembles them for an end product.
• Packages and loads cut materials and assemblies for transport to project sites.
• Responsible for accurately reading and understanding a tape measure.
• Responsible for cleaning up the shop, shop equipment, and common areas.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

FABRICATOR

In addition, this position will be responsible for:

• Sets up both automated and manual shop equipment for new operations.
• Sets up jigs and fixtures to produce repeatable parts.
• Uses measuring and marking devices to lay out parts and pieces for fabrication.
• Responsible for reading and understanding shop drawings, construction drawings, and other relevant documents.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to follow up on inquiries promptly.
• Ability to identify common construction materials and shop equipment.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
• Apprentice and/or Vocational/Technical/Trade training (Preferred)
• Equivalent relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in commercial construction, manufacturing, or fabrication shop work (Preferred)

Working Environment

• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).
• Work in maintenance facilities, with exposure to varying temperatures, moving equipment, noise, and fumes.
• Willing to work non-traditional hours and overtime as needed.
• Reliable transportation required.
• May require use of respirator.
• Comfortable working at heights and in narrow spaces.
• Physical activities include standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, and balancing.
