Role Summary

The Fabricator will produce components for various construction project types, including precision parts, utilizing and setting up automated tools and specialized equipment. All activities support the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

PREFABRICATION FAMILY - CORE

• Operates automated equipment, uses cut lists to produce specific-sized material.
• Operates manual shop equipment; uses cut lists for making repeatable parts.
• Applies basic math to production activities, such as cutting parts or assembling multiple parts.
• Collects components, assembles for end products.
• Packages and loads materials and assemblies for transport to project sites.
• Responsible for accurately reading a tape measure.
• Ensures shop cleanliness and equipment maintenance.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

FABRICATOR

In addition, this position will be responsible for:

• Setting up automated and manual shop equipment for new operations.
• Setting up jigs and fixtures for repeatable parts.
• Using measuring and marking devices for fabrication layout.
• Reading and understanding shop and construction drawings.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and timely.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Timely follow-up on inquiries.
• Ability to identify construction materials and shop equipment.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate within teams.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED (Preferred).
• Apprentice, Vocational/Technical/Trade training (Preferred).
• Equivalent relevant experience considered.

Experience

• 2+ years in commercial construction, manufacturing, or fabrication shop experience (Preferred).

Working Environment

• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• May be exposed to extreme conditions, varying temperatures, noise, fumes.
• May require working non-traditional hours and overtime.
• Reliable transportation required.
• May require respirator use, working at heights, in narrow spaces.
• Physical activities include standing, walking, climbing, bending, etc.
