Job summary

Firematic Supply Co. Inc. in New York is seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our Truck Shop in E. Yaphank, NY. You will fabricate metal components from sketches and blueprints and perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum, stainless steel, and steel.

Responsibilities include cutting, fitting, and assembling parts, reading schematics, and maintaining a safe, organized workspace. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and competitive hourly pay depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with MIG and TIG welding on aluminum, stainless steel, and steel.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Strong math and measurement conversion skills.
• Ability to work independently with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Professional communication skills.
• Consistently produce clean, high-quality welds.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate metal components and structures from sketches, drawings, or verbal instructions.
• Perform custom fabrication and installation on fire apparatus and specialty vehicles.
• Cut, fit, layout, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly.
• Weld in MIG and TIG on aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel (sheet metal to structural).
• Weld in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Operate shop equipment including shear, brake, band saw, disc sander, and related tools.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean workspace.
