Job summary

Midwest Fire is seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to assemble, tack, and perform final welding on aluminum frame weldments. This hands-on role uses shears, brakes, plasma cutters and small machining tools in a safety-conscious production team.

You’ll read blueprints and welding symbols, maintain quality standards, and help with material handling within our employee-owned facility. We offer full-time hours (Mon-Fri, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.) and a pay range of $20.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on

Qualifications

• Two-year technical welding certification or equivalent.
• Minimum two years in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, and drawings.
• Ability to use measuring tools and fabrication equipment accurately.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum and light steel components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
• Fabricate and modify parts using shop equipment (shears, brakes, plasma cutters, machining tools).
• Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and maintain quality standards.
• Perform basic mechanical assembly and fabrication tasks (drilling, tapping, fitting).
• Maintain welding equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Follow safety, quality, and housekeeping standards in the work area.
• Assist with material handling, inventory, and production duties as needed.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and standard shop equipment safely.
