Job summary

Stryker Group in Portage, MI is seeking a production operator to fabricate parts using welding, drilling and saw equipment. You will set up, run machines, inspect parts, and maintain compliance with quality standards.

The role requires high school or GED and manufacturing experience, with weekend overtime and a $20.50 base wage plus $2 differential and bonus potential. Training provided until certificates are earned.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate fabrication equipment and inspect parts.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality fabricated parts using various fabrication equipment.
• Operate drill presses, weld nuts, saws and other basic fabrication equipment.
• Conduct inspections with gauges and troubleshoot as needed.
• Set up, prepare and maintain machine center and work area.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and quality standards while meeting production goals.
• Keep records per Stryker specifications.

Job description

Schedule:

Weekday Training Required:
Monday - Thursday: 5:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Training will continue until employee obtains necessary certificates needed to solo operate welding robots.

Permanent Schedule (after training):
Friday - Saturday: 5:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Sunday: 5:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Important: Candidates must be able to work weekday training now and weekend work once the shift begins.

What you will do:

• Responsible for producing high quality fabricated parts utilizing various fabrication equipment


• Responsible for running production as a loaded/unloader, or on a drill press station, weld nut station, saw, or other basic fabrication equipment and tooling


• Conducts inspections in accordance with relevant gage plans with a working knowledge of how to operate required inspection equipment and troubleshoots as needed


• Responsible for set-up, work preparation, fabrication, clean up, preventative maintenance of machine center, and quality assurance of own work and work area


• Assures compliance with policies and procedures, customer service goals, and quality standards while meeting production goals


• Accountable for all record-keeping as appropriate and in accordance with Stryker specifications


• Committed to quality by striving for reliability and quality in our products, continuously searching for ways to enhance performance and meeting all training and documentation criteria.


• Meet work schedule and overtime requirements, including weekends
