Job summary

Stryker Group in Portage, MI is seeking a production/fabrication associate. Mon–Fri 1:45pm–10:15pm with overtime; operate metal fabrication equipment to cut, bend, form and shape components following procedures. You will set up, run, inspect, and document quality for parts and maintain clean work areas.

Requirements include 2 years manufacturing and 1 year fabrication experience; HS diploma or GED preferred. Lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods are expected.

• Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of fabrication experience.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality fabricated parts using various fabrication equipment.

Schedule: Mon – Friday, 1:45pm – 10:15pm, OT Required

What you will do:

Operate metal fabrication equipment, including punch presses, shears, rolls, power brakes, and saws, to cut, bend, form, and shape metal components to specification. This role follows established procedures and work instructions to support safe, efficient production while learning manufacturing processes and developing technical skills.

• Responsible for producing high quality fabricated parts utilizing various fabrication equipment
• Responsible for running production as a loaded/unloader, or on a drill press station, weld nut station, saw, or other basic fabrication equipment and tooling
• Conducts inspections in accordance with relevant gage plans with a working knowledge of how to operate required inspection equipment and troubleshoots as needed
• Responsible for set-up, work preparation, fabrication, clean up, preventative maintenance of machine center, and quality assurance of own work and work area
• Assures compliance with policies and procedures, customer service goals, and quality standards while meeting production goals
• Accountable for all record-keeping as appropriate and in accordance with Stryker specifications
• Committed to quality by striving for reliability and quality in our products, continuously searching for ways to enhance performance and meeting all training and documentation criteria.
• Meet work schedule and overtime requirements, including weekends

What you need:

Required:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant manufacturing experience
• Minimum of 1 year of fabrication experience

Preferred:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 4 years of relevant machine operation experience

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift/carry 10-50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
