Job summary

Stryker in Portage, Michigan is hiring a manufacturing associate to produce high quality parts using welding and basic fabrication equipment. Training runs Monday through Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and continues until you obtain the required certificates to solo operate welding robots. After training, the permanent schedule is Friday–Saturday 5:00 a.m.

– 7:00 p.m. and Sunday 5:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Candidates must have a High School or GED and manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in fabrication environments and basic equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality fabricated parts using welding and basic fabrication equipment.
• Run production as loaded/unloader or on drill press, weld nut, saw, or similar equipment.
• Perform inspections with appropriate gauges and equipment and troubleshoot as needed.
• Set up, prepare, fabricate, clean, and maintain machine center and quality of own work.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and production goals; maintain required records.

Friday–Saturday: 5:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Sunday: 5:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Important:

Candidates must be able to work weekday training now and weekend work once the shift begins.

What you will do:

• Responsible for producing high quality fabricated parts utilizing various fabrication equipment
• Responsible for running production as a loaded/unloader, or on a drill press station, weld nut station, saw, or other basic fabrication equipment and tooling
• Conducts inspections in accordance with relevant gage plans with a working knowledge of how to operate required inspection equipment and troubleshoots as needed
• Responsible for set-up, work preparation, fabrication, clean up, preventative maintenance of machine center, and quality assurance of own work and work area
• Assures compliance with policies and procedures, customer service goals, and quality standards while meeting production goals
• Accountable for all record-keeping as appropriate and in accordance with Stryker specifications
• Committed to quality by striving for reliability and quality in our products, continuously searching for ways to enhance performance and meeting all training and documentation criteria.
• Meet work schedule and overtime requirements, including weekends
