Sunrise Medical in Mount Juliet, TN is seeking an experienced Fabricator & Assembly Specialist to perform bench and line assembly, fabricate parts, and ensure quality compliance. The role requires following work instructions, kanban practices, and data entry in JD Edwards.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of related experience, basic math and reading skills in English, and the ability to work across multiple stations. This is a full-time position with negligible travel, on-site in Mt. Juliet.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and understand simple English instructions and memos.
  • Basic math plus ability to measure using common tools.
  • Some computer skills; experience with JD Edwards is a plus.
  • Welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products using hand tools per specs and complete signoffs.
  • Train and rotate through different workstations following guidelines.
  • Flex up/down the line and follow policies and procedures.
  • Fabricate parts per specifications using tubing, cutting, and coping.
  • Operate ban saws, lathe, and mill; perform precision measurements.
  • Follow process sheets and report safety and training matters; inspections as needed.
  • Coordinate with scheduler to track work orders and notes in JD Edwards.
  • Adhere to Kanban/ scrap procedures and document as required.
  • Participate in a self-managed team and rotate responsibilities.
  • Maintain safety/housekeeping standards and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Enter data into JD Edwards and support special projects.

Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Primarily responsible for performing bench or line assembly operations and fabricating a variety of parts utilizing a variety of machinery or equipment. Responsible for compliance to Quality Systems Regulations (QSR).

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for assembly of product using hand tool in accordance with specification and work instructions. Performs necessary TQC and documentation signoffs.
  • Responsible for training and learning a variety of workstations by following training guidelines.
  • Flexes up/down the line as necessary. Responsible for learning and compliance to policies/ procedures applicable to the position.
  • Responsible for fabricating a variety of parts in accordance with specifications and prints, such as tubing bender, cutting, and coping.
  • Familiar with ban saws, lathe, and mill. Also, able to use precision measurements and related tools.
  • Responsible for following process sheets/work instructions, department area procedures on matters such as KANBAN and scrap/reprocessing. Responsible for reporting on variety of matters such as safety and training. Performs necessary inspections and documents as necessary.
  • Responsible for working closely with department manufacturing scheduler to assure proper work order scan tracking and required work order notes for JD Edwards.
  • Responsible for following department area procedures (D.A.P.) on matters such as KANBAN, scrap/reprocessing, and work instructions.
  • Responsible for reporting on a variety of matters such as scrap, safety, training, attendance, purchase orders, etc.
  • Participates in a self-managed team. Assumes specific responsibilities on a rotating basis for activities/items such as team representative, team indicators, team meeting minutes, etc.
  • Responsible for following all applicable safety/housekeeping guidelines. Performs necessary preventative maintenance.
  • Responsible for entering data into JD Edwards – Scanning/travelers back flushing. May work on special projects/assignments upon request.
Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • One (1) to three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend (in English) simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Documents may include Material Safety Data Sheets, work orders, work instructions, manuals, policies, and procedures, etc.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Some computer skills are preferred.
  • Welding experience a plus.
