Job summary

Ride Designs in Mt. Juliet, TN is seeking an assembler to perform bench or line assembly operations following provided specifications and work instructions.

The role requires basic math, ability to read simple English instructions, and readiness to work in a team as part of a self-managed group; prior experience is not required, but 1–3 months is helpful. Training will be provided and JD Edwards data entry may be involved.

Qualifications

Position Summary

Primarily responsible for performing bench or line assembly operations on a variety of product. Responsible for compliance to Quality Systems Regulations (QSR).

Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for assembly of product using hand tool in accordance with specification and work instructions. Performs necessary TQC and documentation signoffs.
• Responsible for training and learning a variety of workstations by following training guidelines.
• Flexes up/down the line as necessary. Responsible for learning and compliance to policies/procedures applicable to the position.
• Responsible for working closely with department manufacturing scheduler to assure proper work order scan tracking and required work order notes for JD Edwards.
• Responsible for following department area procedures (D.A.P.) on matters such as KANBAN, scrap/reprocessing, and work instructions.
• Responsible for reporting on a variety of matters such as scrap, safety, training, attendance, purchase orders, etc.
• Participates in a self-managed team. Assumes specific responsibilities on a rotating basis for activities/items such as team representative, team indicators, team meeting minutes, etc.
• Responsible for following all applicable safety/housekeeping guidelines. Performs necessary preventative maintenance.
• Responsible for entering data into JD Edwards – Scanning/travelers back flushing. May work on special projects/assignments upon request.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• One (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend (in English) simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Documents may include Material Safety Data Sheets, work orders, work instructions, manuals, policies, and procedures, etc.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Some computer skills are preferred.
