Job summary

Afinitas is hiring 2nd shift Fabricators in a manufacturing environment. Work Monday-Thursday with 10 hour days; 2nd shift from 2:45pm-12:45am with a $2 per hour shift differential. Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, welding with MIG/TIG and grinding, and ensuring quality with measurement and testing.

A team-oriented role in a plant setting. Candidates should be able to read blueprints, perform basic welding and grinding tasks, and work safely with PPE in a fast-paced production

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and interpret basic blueprints, specifications, and machined part prints.
• Beginning level grinding knowledge
• Beginning level experience in MIG, TIG, and flux core welding

Responsibilities

• Interpret basic drawings, route sheets, specifications, and instructions to determine methods and techniques to be applied.
• Set up and operate welding equipment; adjust parameters and choose electrodes for welding operations.
• Perform basic saw operations and painting as required.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances with micrometers and calipers.
• Measure, examine, and test units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specs.

Afinitas is Hiring 2nd Shift Fabricators!

We are a world's leading manufacturing of innovative solutions for the concrete pipe machinery and form equipment.

We work Monday-Thursday 10 hour days. Our 2nd shift is from 2:45pm-12:45 am with a shift diferential of $2 an hour.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interpret basic drawings, route sheets, specifications, and instructions to determine methods and techniques to be applied.


• Set up and operate metal arc, shielded arc, or oxyacetylene equipment for welding, brazing, and flame cutting operations; set current, amperage, gas pressures and controls; select rod, wire, tips, electrodes for specific job at hand; fit, position, and secure with holding devices.


• Perform basic saw operations and painting as required.


• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.


• May measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers.


• Assist with detection of defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to supervisor.


• Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements.


• Participate in team meetings to communicate and help resolve any cost, quality, or production issues; understand and apply engineering change request process.


• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.


• Maintain equipment and work area in clean, orderly, and safe condition.


• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to understand and interpret basic blueprints, specifications, and machined part prints.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Works in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals. Employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at the location.
