Standard Iron is seeking skilled welders for its 2nd shift, specializing in handrails, guardrails, and stair systems. You will perform MIG welding on mild steel, read blueprints, and fabricate precise components to rigorous standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with MIG welding and interpreting welding symbols and blueprints.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed instructions.
• Physically capable of standing, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• MIG weld on mild steel with thickness ranging from 20 gauge to 1 inch.
• Fabricate components accurately following specifications and drawings.
• Support certification efforts such as D1.1 and D1.3 as part of training.
• Interpret welding symbols and blueprints for precise setups.
• Operate finishing tools (grinders, abrasives) to meet standards.
• Operate cranes, positioners, magnets, and hooks safely.
• Demonstrate reliability and self-motivation to adapt as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• MIG Welding: Perform MIG welding on mild steel, working with materials ranging from 20 gauge to 1-inch thickness. Ability to cut, bend and fabricate components.
• High-Quality Fabrication: Produce accurate, durable components following detailed instructions and specifications.
• Certification Support: Standard Iron supports you in achieving certifications, such as D1.1 GMAW and D1.3 GMAW, as part of your training.
• Blueprint Reading: Interpret welding symbols and blueprints to ensure precise setups and welds.
• Tool Mastery: Utilize a variety of metal finishing tools, including grinders and abrasives, to meet our high standards.
• Safe Equipment Operation: Operate lifting devices such as cranes, positioners, magnets, and hooks safely and efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of one year of MIG welding experience is preferred.
• Blueprint Analysis: Interpret complex structural blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols accurately.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, steady hand, and a true passion for quality welding work.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to handle repetitive tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Schedule:

• 2ndShift - Monday-Thursday 4:30pm - 3:00am.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Competitive Pay: Earn between $24.45 - $36.68/hr + based on experience and skills. 15% differential for 2nd Shift.
• $3,000 sign-on bonus for 2nd ShiftWelders and Machine Operators
